1979-81 bumpers fit a 82?

I have a 82 280zx and I dont like the front and rear bumpers. I was wondering if 79-81 front and rear bumpers would fit the newer years. I dont see why they wouldn't, I would just want to make sure it will workout before I even try to change it.

Yeah they would def bolt up to the absorbers but remember the extra trim pieces on the 82-83 cars that extend past the bumpers on the fender and quarter. There is a stamped hole in the sheet metal to mount those.
Its funny you mention having the later style and wanting the early ones. I've been toying with the idea for years of swapping my 81 bumpers for the later style. But never felt the outcome was worth the effort, seeing how both styles look good to me.

Nah. In the grand scheme of things its really not that important. I will say though its much easier to drill a hole than fill one!

I, myself like the the 79-81 bumpers. the extra little trim pieces on the 82-83, IMO is too much. Too much plastic can look too tacky...again thats my opinion.
