Stop light warning killing battery

I am new to the forum and this is my first post. I have a 1982 280ZX. When the car is started, the information screen says "ok". As soon as the break is pressed, the screen turns red. when the check is run, The screen blinks "stop". The breaks and break lights all still work. If the car is turned off in this state the battery will die. If the car is started and the break is never pressed, all is good. I have replaced the stoplight switch. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Welcome to ZDriver!

Check out XenonS130 - S130 Reference and get a freebie factory service manual and maybe the parts fiche. See if there is a relay between the stoplight switch and the stop lights, in the back behind the rear panel or under the carpet. With the electrical diags in your manual you can check out the whole circuit. Easier if you print the diags on 11x17 and use a colored marker. Also check all your bulbs for function.

Report back, please! Thanks.
