'86T SECURITY light blinking non-stop
In my '86zx turbo, the SECURITY light just below the tach never stops blinking - and only goes out when I start the car and drive it. When I lock it up, the light blinks and never goes out. Happens whether I lock the doors with the key or use the lock-door/hold-latch method. It’s gonna mean a dead battery sooner or later.
Anybody have a clue about this? I checked all the fuses and they look good. Foot well lights work as normal - fade and go out right after locking the doors.
Would like the alarm system to work right - but disconnecting it would be OK since I live in a good neighborhood. Anybody have an idea? Thanks!

You will see a yellow SECURITY light turn on in the instrument cluster to confirm alarm has been activated. If it is blinking, one of the sensors has a closed (meaning door/trunk/hood appears to be open) circuit. Once the light goes out (approx. 30 seconds), the system is armed.
Check both doors, hatch, AND hood sensors. Most likely the hood. If you can't figure it out, pull the security fuse.

Security light blinking
Hey thanks guys! I checked for the sensors today and couldn't find them. I pulled the THEFT WARNING fuse from the fuse box by my left leg but the light still blinks. Is it one of the relays in the relay box to the left in the engine compartment that I should pull?
Tell me what you pulled to turn off the factory security system.
Thanks again. I appreciate it.

PS: The same system in my '86na still works perfectly - after 27 years!

FSM (for 300ZX '86) pages EL-6 and EL-7 show a fuse layout (in the fuse block) that is different from the chart on the back of my '86T fuse block cover.
The FSM shows the security alarm fuse as #7 down from the top in row 2. My cover chart shows it as #5 from the top in row 2 - so that's the one I pulled. Maybe I pulled the wrong fuse?
Thanks.

You guys are good at this.
Like FSM page EL-6 says, on the '86T - row 2 fuse #7 is the correct fuse for Theft Warning Control Unit. I pulled it and the SECURITY light went out. (Bitchin' Betty clapped and whistled)
Somebody must have switched the fuse block cover from some other 84-89 model because that shows the Theft Warning fuse in slot #5. FSM page EL-7 shows '86NA Theft fuse is in slot #7 too. So, wrong year fuse block cover on my 86T.
I will go through the winter with the theft warning disconnected until I have the time and weather to trace down the sensor signals to figure out which one(s) not working right. FSM has a good write up for troubleshooting this.
Thanks again guys!
