Engine problems - need help..

I'm have problems with my Z, & don't have a clue where to begin to fix it. It will start up and run fine for a while (usually about 30 minutes) but then after a while it wont run right at low rpm. It will die at stop lights, then pops & backfires while I'm trying to re-start it. When I try to take off, it spits & sputters & backfires. I have to kind of slowly tap the gas to get it moving, if I give it too much gas it bogs & tries to die. Once I get it moving & get the rpm up a little it smooths out & runs fine until I slow back down. Anyone have any ideas?

It's a '80 without turbo. In the last 6 months I've replaced the injectors, fuel pump, ignition module, plugs & wires, and the coil. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Maybe a bad water temp sensor or corroded connectors? Sounds like the ecu is dumping in a lot of fuel.

I know what it is I had the same problem it is the fuel pressure regulator located on top of the engine to the middle where the fuel rail is. Replace that piece of junk, I had the same problem took me a month of going to the junk yard and replaceing almost everything to get it running right.

Thanks for all the ideas, I'll check them all out. I did find one thing today that caught my attention. I pulled the afm off to check it out & found that all the bolts that hold it to the bracket had fallen out. One of the bolts has a wire behind it that grounds the afm to the frame. With the bolt gone, it wasn't getting a good ground. Is it just wishful thinking, or could this possibly be my problem? I put new bolts in it & I'll be driving it tomorrow to see what happens.

Thanks again for all the help!!

Thanks Zskyline. That's what I'll try next if the ground wire wasn't the problem. Luckily I have 3 parts cars so I don't have to keep running to the junk yard & spending $$.
