like i said....WHAT COLOR IS THE SMOKE...dont just jump to conclusions..there are many different ways for a car to burn oil..and leaking valve guides/seals is not the only way to do it

k well...burning OIL is a blueish hue...white means coolant and black = gas...so if it is sortof a blueishi whitish color than yes be thinking oil... Too high an oil level in the crankcase will let the crankshaft churn the oil to foam. This will result in oil pump starvation, which means your engine won't be properly lubricated. Overfilling can also lead to high crankcase pressure, possibly leading to oil seal leaks. meaning yes the valve guide/seals oil rings on the pistons...either way..DAMMMMIT

if it smokes only at startup, there's a good chance that your valve guides are bad. If it smokes all the time, then there is a good chance that you are getting some blow by from the piston rings.

sounds like blow by from the rings, which isn't a good thing. If it is, then you're going to have to replace your piston rings, which is alot of labor.

engine

u can get a used engine for 600 to 800 thats block and heads only u will need to switch over everything else. most places offer decent shipping rates and a warranty. i have only found one complete motor and it was 87 turbo for 900 and 200 to ship.
