the engine keeps making a taping noise when ever its idle but when press the accelrator the noise is harder to hear dose anyone know what could be the source of the noise? and when you start the car you can smell the gas very badly could that just be because of the muffler??

 

Sounds like valves for the tapping and possibly leaky fuek injectors for the smell. Have it checked out.

If you don't know already, There is a Fuel Injector recall out on these cars. Its very probable that-that's the problem. You might have 2 seperate problems, Fuel Injectors and Lifters or Valves.

 

Okay this might be something you've already checked but check the oil stick. You just might be low on oil and getting that tap.
