Car dies when i give it gas?
Recently i tossed a 83 turbo in my 280zx and now whenever I give it any kind of gas it just sputters and dies. The car starts up and idles just fine...
Also.. when i had my old 81 ecu in it the car would die almost instantly if i pulled the afm harness, but now since replacing it with the 83 i can remove it and it continues to idle just fine with a slight stutter when i pull it.
My current setup is all stock, engine from a 81 280zx turbo, 83 dizzy and i'm currently using a 81 harness that has the resistor pack thats bypassed.
I searched for awhile on my wire harness schematics and really didn't see anything different between the 81 harness and the 83 ecu, especially with the afm wiring.
i'm confounded here.

I would prefer to put this in your other trouble shooting threads to we don't have to re-live what was already mentioned.
But here we go with the basics:
-Have you checked the timing? What is it set to?
-Have you adjusted / calibrated the TPS?
-Have you checked the fuel pressure?
-Have you adjusted the AFM?
-Have you cleaned all sensor connections?
-Have you wiggled the ecu plug wires?
-Have you checked the spark plug tips to see if they are all the same? Wet? Dry? Color?
IF all that DOES check out... I would suspect something w/ your rigged dizzy or bypassed resistors.
