got myself an 81 280zx turbo and it's stock everything...engine is in pretty good shape but it's an auto...i really want to do a five speed swap and i found a guy selling a five speed for $200 OBO...i know it will be a pain in the *** but can it be done without me going crazy?...my only concern is the clutch and clutch pedal installation...help me out guys?

If you've got any mechanical ability at all then it's not a difficult job. Just make sure you have everything before hand. There are a few threads on this topic. But for quick reference you'll need: Pedal assembly (for m/t), clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, hydraulic hoses for clutch system, manual transmission, clutch (get a kit that inc. disc, pressure plate and throwout bearing), flywheel (from m/t Z), shifter (if it doesn't come with the trans), pilot bearing and shift boot to tidy it up. ECU doesnt need to be changed or anything like that. This is a purely mechanical swap.
