240SX throttle body

Hey,
I found a 240sx in the junkyard next to my work today and It happened to have a throttlebody on it which they wanted $35 for. Im in need of one quick because Im starting to install Megasquirt. My only question is which ones do we use on our cars?? It was a SOHC so it was either a 89' or 90'. I thought the TPS was in a different place?? If so which one should I be getting.

Thanks in advance\
Rob

for the factory ECU you want the SOHC throttle like you found
For Megasquirt, you want the DOHC from 1991+

Accidentally bought? I don't think I've ever heard anyone say that (outside of Judge Judy's Court).... How do you accidentally buy something? And you should still use the TPS.

hey thanks for the help Bleach. That really sucks.. So there is no way I could use that one with MS? I didnt really spend time to look at it ( I was on my lunch brake) is it that the TPS itself is different or just the location?

Thanks
Rob

You plug in the 280zx TPS wiring plug to the 240sx TPS plug. I believe Bleach advised to get the DOHC (KA24DE) TB for megasquirt, because it comes w/ the spare pig-tail connection.

Thanks for the help Nismo. Sorry for my stupid question.. but does that mean I can use it? will it work without the spare pigtail connection?

Thanks for your help

Yep... the pigtail connection is for aftermarket fuel computers.

I was thinking the SOHC TPS on the KA had a 3-position switch (like the Z) where as the DOHC had a throttle position sensor which actually told the ECU how far open the throttle was... not just idle, cruise, and WOT. Megasquirt needs the more accurate readings... right? no?

maybe you can use the SOHC throttle body, but you'll want the later 240SX TPS to stick on the side... if you can even do that
