1996 240sx throttle body ?

Hey every one i finnaly got ahold of the 60mm throttle body and i must tell every body its huge ! looks good to go... but more inportantaly.. how to swap it all out..

60mm throttle body 1st unbolted the side bolt and took off the liankage

2nd i took out the two little screws inside the throttle body
3rd turned the trottle body to wide open and pull out the brass circle

4th unbolted the TPS sensor..
5th pushed out the 240sx rod..
6th already had apart the 280zxt throttle body
7th put in the stock 280zxt throttle body rod
8th bolted back up the tps making sure it would open right..
9th is were i am stuck at i tried to use the 240sx throttle stoper but its too big
10th i tried to modify the 280zxt throttle stoper but it didint work to well..

i am in need of pictures on how to do the rest as i am stumped at this point..

Man... I didn't do any of that. I just took off the throttle linkage ball from the stock TB, and put it on the 60mm TB. I had to take off one of the springs & wind the first spring, half around again to make it work. That was it. I'm lookin through my pics for a good close up.

it seemed like the 1996 240sx throttle body bolt was a little bit too big for the stock Tb linkadge ball.. so i thought about it and gave it my best shot...

I didn't have to change out the throttle shaft either. I used the 240 shaft with the 280 linkage.

You plug in the stock 280zx harness, to the TPS... thas it. I extended my wires a few inches, to make them fit well. There is also a gray harness, connected by wires... leave it alone.

This really isn't complicated...

yeah... you just have the ball 180 degrees off... undo that nut & rotate that bracket 180 (keeping the ball on that same outward side).

YES... you need a spring on the TB, between the linkage ball, and edge of the TB. Otherwise it won't slam shut when you let off the gas pedal.

I will snap a bunch of pics of my TB, but it won't be until tomorrow (the Z is at my parents house).

60mm THROTTLE BODY

there's a websight, GRAY'S [DATSUN] GARAGE, has some helpful info on the 60mm throttle body and how to go about putting it on.

just wundering were did you get the silly idea to swap all the internal parts on the tb?
I would just go get another out of the junk yard, and keep the other one you have for spare parts. but in the other hand the one you have will still work so why waste anymore money you don't have to? I thought about the moter sport one, but I figured go the same rout you did (junk yard). cheep way to go, but the only thing I think is nessesary to change I think is the idle adjustment screw if I am not mistaken corect me if I am rong (probably so).

One thing you need to do, is cut that bar holding the springs. Cut it down, just below the ball linkage plate, and keep the first spring on. That way, you can flip the linkage plate 180 degrees to where it should be stock. See attached pic.

Yikes... that's way too complicated. Did you use a die to re-thread the shaft too? I just put on the 280zx linkage plate, cut down that spring rod, and bolted it up. I also kept the 240sx TPS... no need to change it, as it works just as good as the 280zx TPS.
