Rebuilt or New Rear Brakes?

I am new to the Z world. I recently purchased an 83' 280zx and a mechanic is suggesting a rebuild on rear brakes/calipers. Is this the best way of going about this? Or is there a manufacturer of new parts for this? The mechanic states that OEM is out of production.

Suggesting a rebuild?

He's suggesting it so he can make more money, or because there is something wrong with them?

Rebuild kits are hard to find these days, but you can still buy remans: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/par...mString=search

I "suggest" asking the mechanic for a detailed explanation on why he "suggests" working on the calipers.
