hey guys anybody know or heard of a better rear brake setup. like a caliper swap or something. im gonna do the front toyota thing and want the rear to help out a little more than the stock 79 funny looking calipers with little peener pads, i could go to 82 calipers, but do i need a spacer to work with my cross drilled rotors, i know 79 - 82 are diff somehow.

79 - 81 280zx's... your options are pretty limited. The 240sx rear calipers will fit the 82 - 83 280zx's, but not 79 - 81.... which also means the 82 - 83's won't fit on the 79 - 81's. The mounting bolt locations are slightly different between the two. So it's either an adapter kit from ModernMotorsports / Arizona Z... or swap the rear arms (which also includes the cv shaft change).

 

the cv's are different too? i didnt know that, i got a spare set of those.

 

i had a 1981 280zxt and a 1982 280zxt and the rear brake set up is totaly different set up but it looks like the 1981;s 280zxt might be betteR? i was told some were that the 1981 280zxt were made for autocross ? did i hear wrong ?
