long and soft brake petal
long and soft brake petal
i have done a little searching but not much on this topic. Stopping is pretty important second to only 1 thing. While driving you hit the brakes the petal has no resistance in 1st 1/4 petal @ 1/2 very mild resistance and can barely feel it stopping at 3/4 to full is where it will stop more towards full petal. I haven't slammed on the brakes afraid that i might mess something up. I was thinking of bleeding the brakes but figured i would get a little advice first.
Thats what i was thinking. Also my E brake is the same way, i pull it all the way up and if the car is on any incline what so ever. it will roll or if you give it a good push it will roll.will that go away when i bleed the brakes or will i or is thier a

no it wil not, the ebrake is manaul system, hence the name E(mergency) brake ( so it cant be hydrolic) it should give you a change to stop when a line rips or whatever cause pressure loss in your system.
you can adjust the cable, as it is like on a bike, cable operated.

I'd start by checking the pads to see if you have any frictiion material left. Bleed the master cylinder first. I use clear plastic tube up and back into the reservoir so you can see when air bubbles stop. when you bleed the wheels (assuming you don't have a helper) drop the tube into a glass container that contains some brake fluid then when you release the brake it won't suck air back in. You can do the rears and watch what goes on if you have a ten foot long stick or piece of pvc pipe. Use the stick to push on the brake pedal. You can see driver side front from right there. Right side front use the stick again. If you have a helper you can just lay there and watch and when bubbles stop close the bleeder. E brake cable adjusted with a screw mechanism located under the car ahead of the diffy. Adjust the rod that goes from the pedal to the master cylinder so you have correct free play. Too tight and brakes will drag all the time. Too much and you get the symptoms you describe above. kept thinking I had bad master cylinder but after two new ones I looked for other causes and found that there was way to much free play.
