FYI: You can get fully rebuilt steering racks (rack in pinion) for about $240 with free shipping.

boy i just molded my scoop to the hood...lemme tell you ...i ground the hood to bare metal then cleaned it with degreaser and all that...then i drilled holes on the seam where the schoop goes...so it goes trough and catches on the other side....and man...i left it over night...you can lift up the whole hood with the schoop and she wont budge....i also had to cut some off..so i just cut a piece and wanted to peel it off...no sir...wont peel off either...i had to grind the plexiglass off the metal...im glad its bonding this good...ill take a pic when its all nicely sanded down and smooth

Not bad, not bad at all. Great job on the mounting and blending. I'm not a big fan of scoops personally, but I thinkd it'll look great especially once it's all painted the same color. Post some more pics as you go.

I am in no way involved with the rice police or any non govt agency devoted to such things, but in my opinion the only way I would consider your scoop rice is if you just glued it on and made no attempt to blend it in and make it look good.

Very nice work!

Skully, how much snow do you think that bad boy will bring in before your engine freezes?

Hahaha! It's only rice if the double-stick tape holding it on peels off. And come on! Where are the Z3 fenders?

Attention Skully, your pm's are full so here's my reply message...

I'm typically pretty good at coming up with spur of the moment fixes for things, so just let me know if you have any more. I figured using an already formed scoop would be easier than actually constructing a custom passageway, that was my original idea also.
