tail lights

Do you guys know where I can get a hold of some gaskets for my taill lights. I just replaced my old busted one and discovered the previous owner used a lot caulk to seal the tail lighr and the rubber seal I got from the junk yard is in the same poor condition as the seal on my car. Do you guys know where I can get a new seal for cheap or one in good condition

I know Victoria British and Motorsport Auto carry them. I don't know what the pricing is though. Check em out. Or you can hope to find a recently changed one in a parts yard.

I haven't seen any on ebay, but you can try there too.

Good Luck.

When I was down at MSA for the big show, they said they didn't have any more of the 280ZX taillight gaskets, unless they find another supplier. I just used windshield sealant in conjunction with the worn gasket. It just started raining today, so we'll see if it worked!

Alright, try Victoria British then. I guess MSA outta the question for now. Thanks for the heads up, I needed to replace mine too. It looks like somebody used them as firewood.

I got the catalog here and for 79 to 81 they're prt#'s 53-684 and 53-685. for 82-83 prt#'s 53-686 & 53-687. The description says "GAKET-TAIL LAMP-LH/RH" (different part #'s for each side). The earlier ones run $16.95 and the later ones are $8.95. It's the new catalog with the grey Z on the cover. Just got it a few days ago.

Try calling them again with those part numbers and see if that helps.

They've got the letters "ZX" on the lower lenses, probably created by die-cut vinyl or other masking material.

Hey drifter I got mine on E-bay. From a seller called whitegaugeguy. Just type in 280 zx gauge overlays. Or the seller's name. $9.98 plus shipping! They are worth the money. And you probably have the 130 speedo right? It includes faces for the '70's Z's and the Turbo and non-turbo ZX's

ahhhh, they have a ZX on them. i didnt see that at 1st. low res monitor. nice, i bet those look trick at night.
the guages i made myself with the graphics supplied by edmontonzcarclub.com. they have a write up on how to do it but dont listen to how long it takes. they say its a day long job . . . .pft. its like 15 minutes to get the gauges out, 2.5 hours to prep and put the overlays on, and 15 minutes to put'm back. very VERY simple. the overall cost is no more than 20 dollars, less if you dont change the bulbs. but why would you not want to change the bulbs while you have the cluster out?

Yeah I agree Appollo. I put the blue covers in place of the original orange ones. It looks sweet at night. Like a blue indiglo!

actually i have the 85 spedo, said thing is it doesn't even work, got under the car and found the cable cut near the tranny had been like that for years i guess because the odometer reads 86000miles. . geez i wish but, hey i guess it's one way to keep the miles down on a car haha, well not sure how much more work i can put into the 280 eventhough it needs tons, im about to buy a 1992 nissan 240sx with a CA18DET motor, and the JDM 180sx tail light piece, still gonna keep the 280 of course
