Hey fellow Zdrivers,

I not-so-recently bought a 1983 280zx parts car to use to help fix up my 79. My question to you guys is do you think I should take the 83 hood(with NACA ducts) and swap it with my 79 hood. My car is white with black racing stripes. I would also fix all the dings and paint it flat black. Do you guys think this would look goofy? If not, what do you think I should do?

I think the ducts look cool.... but I dont know about the flat black. Id just paint it the same colors as the car.

 

Use the larger duct hood. They look much better.
Flat black is probably better than brown or gold if that's what color it is now

 

As of right now the hood is Blue. My car is white with black racing stripes, so it would be hard for me to replicate the hood to match the rest of the car.

you could always spray paint it white and do the red rising sun. That'll look good on a white car!
