Greetings z lovers
I'm new at this forum, but from what i've seen, you guys know your stuff.
I own a '73 240Z, bought 15 years ago, when the car was 15 years old. Something's been bugging me since then: I have 5 wires leading to the fuel tank and only 2 are being used for the fuel level sender and the other 3 are not being used. This z has a mechanical fuel pump, and no electric one.
What are these wires for ? I also noticed a solenoid clicking on (or off) at around 1700 rpm,
and i can't find the use for it. What is it ?
I'll start a complete restoration of this car this winter, 'cause for the time being, this Z handles like a bowl of mashed potatoes, performs like a Lada and sounds like a gravel truck ! I'd like to get it as close to original as my budget will allow, so i'll be asking a lot of questions in the next few months. Anybody with "pointers" are welcome

I think some 73s had a system that turned the elect fuel pump @ a certain RPM.
my 73 Is a parts car & It had two pumps.
