Uhhh....Where do these wires go?

Installed the mode actuator (FINALLY!! after ordering it 3 months ago) and took the cluster out to reach it better. Noticed these wires and the Air Bag light missing. Any ideas what the wires were connected to?

Yeah, it is. Ditto on the Air Bags - looks like that's where those wires were connected before someone cut them.

Yeah, did a search and found a crappy pic on ebay. Seems like the Air Bag Light was connected to those wires. But the assembly is a bit different from the other lights. Anyone got a pic of the backside of their cluster?

Nice job, Chicopriest! That pic. shows that those wires were connected to the bulb socket for the air bags.

Hmm, would an air bag error show up on the ECU? Also, since that bulb is missing, would it show on the "Light" warning when you hit the break?

i dont think air bag light would throw a code....its just a dumby light...unless the car thinks it was deployed..but i dont know crap about throwing codes on ECU's so dont quote me...i just dont see why a light would throw a code.

Well, it's part of the electrical system which is all connected to the ECU. Chico, if you're getting a "Light" warning when you press the brakes, it sounds like you have a tail light bulb that needs to be replaced.

Yeah i checked all the lights, no bulbs burned out. But cutting that bulb connection one would assume "some" ECU is saying that the air bags have a problem, and the light was always on. Not like just taking the bulb out would do anything.

Hmmm, well, since your instrument panel obviously shows that the Air Bag wires have been cut and the bulb and socket have been removed, then there's no way this "Light" warning is related to the Air Bags. If you ran the codes on the ECU and you're getting the code for the Air Bags, then, that's understandable, because there's no longer an electrical circuit continuity.

This "Light" warning you're getting only when applying the brakes is obviously related to the brake system. Check all of your rear bulbs again, including the 3rd brake light. There appears to be a blown bulb somewhere that you might have overlooked.

Z Car Barbie you were right, the left side marker on the rear was out (never noticed those). But back to this missing light, does anyone have a close up pic of the assembly?
