Think I'm Screwed, Trans Tunnel/Unibody
#27
Sorry for the late reply, did not get notified through my cell phone. I feeel your pain on trying to find nice Z's in Canada. I paid 7000.00. The seats, dash cap, and all trim has been replaced or refurbished. he put in a new Alpine head unit and was set up for hand's free. The paint was done about 5 years ago, but was garaged stored. I work next to the shop that painted it, so I know where the filler lives. The previous owner imported from Cali, thinking it was a "rust free car" but no so much. But that being said he and his sons worked on it over the years and did a lot of the work that is required for the Z's. When I drove it I knew the fan clutch was locked up, running very rich and the suspension bushings front to back were *****. I'm happy with the price, considering they are rare in our parts. Done to date...fixed the running rich issue. T stat replaced, thermotime switch and coolant temp sensor wiring pigtails fixed or replaced, also disconnected the cold start injector. Replaced axle seals, trans output seal. with more t do.Just finished with new bushings of the front and rear suspension, steering rack, steering rag joint. new KYB's, lowered...drives WAY better. Refinished and installed the louver and lower front lip off of the donor car. Picked up at 240z bumper in bad shape ($50.00) and down the road the front diving board will be gone. And much more work to go. The moral of the story is be prepared to pull wrenches, or have deep pockets, but I wouldn't change a thing!
