Rear Defrost

Anyone out there know of a good rear defrost replacement? I used to have to "lines", but obviously over time and no care, they have been erroded to nothing. So I scraped them off and put on a simple heat blower pointed at my hatch window from JCWhitney. It's not cutting it though, and there's a huge amperage draw. I know there used to be a Line-type replacement, but I can't find it.

you can get that metal/copper paint stuff (and use masking tape to define the lines) but this doesn't always work. i had to hunt for a new hatch for mine since the glass defroster/defogger lines were completely gone in mine. that may be an option for you.

Creator,
Thanks for the reply. Did you try to paint the electrode lines on, or did you go right to a new hatch? I found some websites on the line repair kits, but they state that they are only for repairing, not completely redoing. Also, how much did a new hatch cost you, if you don't mind me asking?

the lines on my old glass had serious gaps, i never did try to repair mine. And in regards to the hatch, i found a whole hatch, with brackets, glass, and emblems for 20$cad on some online parts forum (it may have even been on here, or zhome.com, i dont remember, some guy was parting out an old 240z and he had a bunch of extra body panels, interior bits, and other parts, i picked up the hatch, and some vent covers and some other little things.

You'd be surprized what you can find for cheap on the internet.

Can you post the links you found on repairing the lines please? Many people may be able to benefit from this info.
