noob with a old desert 240

Hi

Very new to this, first Datsun, first restoration and already a little lost. This first think I'm trying to to do if find out the what the car should have looked like originally ?

It's now painted a dark red/brown (with pin stripes) and the lacquer has failed on 70% of the car. I can't see any sign of any original paint anywhere or alt colours.

The interior is RED. Like red every! The centre console, glove box, steering column surround. Red carpets and red velvet coloured seats and velvet door panels. I'm guessing the interior panels have been painted (I haven't seen red panels in any other photos). And if so can that be fixed ? As for the velvet ???

Also I need to get her up and running to figure out what she needs, so any advice for prepping a car to start that has sat in the desert for 20 years would be great !!

Thanks
R

I assume the paint code sticker is gone from the hood. The first place I would look for original paint would be under the rear deck carpet and spare tire well.
