New to this desert, should I be freaked out?

I found 4 BLACK WIDOW spiders by my front door last night. Thats right, 4! 2 very large ones (about an inch big) and 2 small ones. Should I be freaked out about this since I have 2 small children and a dog? Or is this just a normal thing you desert people just live with?

They don't bother me or the dog generally. Teach your kids to avoid them though. They come with the territory. Keep a can of raid handy.

We have them every once in a while also. Teach the kids to stay away from em tho.

I only find them in my grill. They add a nice smokey flavor to grilled chicken.

an exterminator won't kill spiders unless they get hit directly by the spray. i have them - just stay away from them and keep spraying like hell - you'll need a regular exterminator visit anyway. i use desert pest control.

Where I live, or in this southeast area, you have to worry about scorpins.
Killed six of them the other night. You turn off all the lights and use a blacklight. They glow like you would'nt believe.

I'm in the Phoenix area. It happens. Mostly, if you dont bother them, they wont bother you!!

Back from the dead...

I have 4 that live outside my front door. I like them. They eat all the crickets and roaches that try to come in under the door's weatherstripping.
