I don't know about charity events. But, there is discounts to places like MSA. That is charity close to home for me. haha
They look like a lot of old people. But, they are the ones that have time for things like car clubs. I will join most likely. It is an AZ thing from what I can tell. Not that you couldn't join, but meetings are in Scottsdale AZ. I would like to see other Z owners. Although with the state my Z is in, I might hold off. lol

I'm a member. The $50 yearly fee pays for a subscription to Nissan Sport, which makes it a lot sweeter, but like Ratfink said, 90% of the members are older than 60... not exactly my crowd. They do have some nice cars though

Old people are the ones with the time to volunteer to make these clubs run and the money to finance their projects. Don't hate on the old people, someday, if you're lucky, you'll be one too.

I hear ya! The most active members of ZONC are in their late 40's and up. But, that's why they drive $100k modded Z's and one of the officers just "upgraded" to a new GT-R. They are really nice people and actively recruit "young kids" to keep the club alive, but most "kids" don't have the money or attention span to organize and keep things rolling. When you're still in school or just out trying to make enough money to put $4/gal gas in your ride and hopefully scrape together enough for that next bowl of Ramen, it's kinda hard to scrounge up enough for "annual dues" and all the other events that cost money. But, it's that money the club needs to pay for the insurance, put the deposits down to reserve the locations and generally operate like a "not for profit" business.
When you guys get older, get better jobs and start making a steady income, you'll be "old" too!
Until then, find clubs that are friendly to the 20's crowd, that don't charge for EVERY event, volunteer whenever you can. You may not have money, but let's face it, we all have a lot more time than we like to admit. And that time, when donated to a club, is a valuable asset as well.
Cheers,
LWW

I'm twentyfive, but I still will join. I like the feeling of clubs. For instance the army. My company always hung out like our own little club. The few of us that hard sport cars went to the drag races. I tried joining a truck club in TX only because there were no Z clubs around where I was located.
See ya next week. I live real close to the dealership. Less than ten minutes away.

Yeah, like I said. They are the ones with the time. I am 23, and have trouble finding time I can devote to a club because of my current activities. Normally work interferes. But, that's my career choice. Although I am now currently unemployed thanks to the huge drop in the price of copper.
I have been active in the Vintage Japanese motorcycle scene for a while. Most of the people there are older. I still got along with everyone. And usually learn things, just hanging out with people that were doing it since before I was born.
