ok i thought that this was strange i was coming home from a friends house at night and my gauge lights weere low so i just adjust them with the **** on the bottom of the dash but in a little while the lights just shut out.wouldn't turn back on.and than latter i found out that my tail lights were not working as well all this happened same day i put a new battery in

 

there is a **** to adjust the brightness of the lights on the 240Z? where at?!?!

 

well, I found the ****, and I messed with mine too, and the lights shut off...keep messing with it, and the lights will turn back on after a while

 

On mine the dash lights and parking lights are off, im going through hell trying to fix it, so screw it, im rewiring the whole damned car. i havent found the problem but if i do ill let u know, could be the same?

 

Had a similar problem with my '71. After chasing things around for a while found a loose connection in the light combination switch. Re-soldered it and lights came on!

well on the steering column the little switch looking thing with the wires soldered to it, well the one wire has broken and it goes to the headlights, do i need to go through that box looking thing to wire the head lights, or can i just straight wire them?

 

must be a common problem.. i had the same thing. I replaced 2 fuses and all the lights came back on even the engine light.

 

all my fuses are fine, it just must be bad electrical wires. gotta think, its more than 25 years old

 

this is a classic problem...call it "proof of authencity"
