a hood scoop is only functional on a top mount intercooler or and EXTREMELY hot running turbo car which even then, the opening that the radiator sits in and the open under end is enough also thats why engines have radiators, they are liquid cooled, not air cooled.

is that supposed to look like a dinosaur? the spoiler is kinda shaped like a few bones...
tonsoffun, you, as a working and producing person, need to make up your mind and stick to it in order to be efficient. maybe i say this just because i'm stubborn, but i do always finish my projects. you just seem to jump around too much. everyone else has preached, there's my bit!

Hes right fella. You're ending up like a shotgun blast. You cover a wide area, but you're no good for a long range target. if i were you, i would take which of my cars is the closest to complete and fully functional, and fix it first. quit jumping between the two and focus. Get that first one fixed, then move on to the next target.

As for that hood scoop, My Father always told me "Son, if it aint broke, don't fix it...." Sounded like good advice to me. improvement is fine, but the hood scoop offers no advantage.

ok i'll get it up and running first! but for 70 you can't beat that, but then again that can be 70 into engine work. ok i get it make it run strong first!!! and one more question how does a stroker motor work why are they called stroker motors do they put out longer more powerful strokes or what? just wondering

Usually, when i'm not sure about what exactly an automotive concept entails, i'll search around on my own first. Usually on wiki first.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stroker_Kit

If the wiki explanation isn't exact enough, i usually go through google images, and find a picture of what i'm looking for.

http://www.aebsracing.com/images/pro...q35stroker.jpg

The picture gives me at least a visual concept of what i'm dealing with.
After i've got the picture, i do a web search on it.

http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/PEM05
http://www.zcar.com/forums/read/1/192259

Usually, the web serach will display a forum or build instruction on what i'm looking for, and inevitably, a place to purchase said product.

If i can't figure it out on my own, or if i just want further clarification, then i'll seek out a real live person who knows what they're talking about and ask them. Ie: Nismopick, Entropy, Snwy, or any other of the many professionals found here on Z-driver, as well as hybridz.org. They're good people.

who's a pro !?!?!? w00t w00t!!! lol

yeah dude plus stroker has been covered MANY MANY times. its not worth the money unless you have the money to blow. a simple stroker (no fancy EFI/carb setup) is a MASSIVE over bore you use 89mm pistons from an SX i believe, which means you need a custom pin matching job to use with 8-9mm 240Z rods (they are longer than the 260 and 280 rods for a longer STROKE!!!! AKA STROKER MOTOR!!!!!!) and then using an old maxima crank (LD28) the D is for diesel also has a much larger throw on the crank for MORE STROKE!!!! (back to the stroker idea right?) you need to get those all mated up and then the rotating assembly professionally balanced. and you should have around a 10/10.5:1 compression ratio with a 3.1 liter displacement. where with VERY VERY proper precautions and tuning taken you CAN (prolly wont) create 300hp NA and also loose about 5-7k

Broseph... do you ever check back on threads when you post? Cuz you asked that question 2 weeks ago and it was answered for you:

A stroker motor has a longer stroke. Bringing it back to physics class... torque = force x radius. The wider the swing of the crank, the more torque.

How does it work? Like any other gasoline motor.

Only if you are too cheap / stupid to build the car well enough to withstand high torque.

PS... 250ft/lbs torque doesn't break stuff.

ok....lemme see, here-----we have a broke-*** boy trying to max out a z31....which will run best if LEFT ALONE and un-modded.......whereas the boy is trying to spend all his money and his gf's and his parents' and everyone elses over stoooopit nonfunctional crap when just making the damn thing run properly is a chore and a challenge-----my oh my-----hay, tons-----PLEASE let the z31 rest in z31 form----they run crappy with only partially complete modifications and the complete set of bs you wish to place on the car will only cause you to be posting about how crappy the z31 is......sooooooooo------i came up with a reallly good idea------

mod out the older car and leave the z31 as is--they run best when there are not so many things to have to reconfigure.......
