fuel pump

Well the pump on the 77 is going out so i pulled it off. I pulled the pump off of my 79 and they look very different. The 77 is attached to a big piece of metal thats held on by 4 bolts. The 79 is held on to the car by 2 small bolts. My question is will it work, or do i have to get a new fuel pump? I'm pretty sure its an easy swap just have no pics to go by.

Hey dude, is it one of the ones with a filter inside? if so, those things get chocked up bad and limit flow...pull it out and see. If you have a good filter under the hood you wont need it
