electric fan time!!!

sooo any who, got my electric fan today and it came with the fan, and this nice lil temp sender looking guy aka their temperature switch? sooo uhhhh.... heres what i want. whats a good fast effective and cheap way to mount my fan? and second, wtf am i suppose to do with the temp switch. the fan itself only has a power and negative wire. i thought it would have a 3rd wire that i would wire to the temp switch. but umm... not that easy.... so what do i need to do ? lol, ive never really hooked up an electric fan where a clutch fan used to be. or should i just wire a switch to my inside and flip the bitch on when the temp guage moves about a quarter way up?

It only needs a pos & ground... you wire up a relay & the temp switch sends the signal to turn on the relay. The fan should have also come w/ zip ties to put through the radiator. no?

w/e u do dont bolt the fan into the rad. zip ties can be done but in a ghetto way. u can go to homedepot find some alum metal strips. make brackets that hug the rad. cheap and cleaner looking just my .02 cents

Takes about 5 minutes to wire a relay (if you know what you're doing). Just need a pos, neg, remote turn on, and + wire to the fan.

i ran my fan to a switch in my dash. that way i can get my z up to 160ish and then turn on....its the south it gets VERY hott in louisiana. man those fans can cut you so easily. i was tesing my flex fan on a spare battery. well it had so much power it twisted in my hands and my poor thumb got the worst of it. i nice i mean nice deep cut and cutting through my fingernail just got a towel and kept working on it. no body makes me bleed my own blood...sorry movie quote(dodgeball)

what type of fan r u using. part # and provider.
next part is is there sum fan that will easily tuck into the 280z's 2.8L engines that i can just go pick up at a junkyard? kuz that would be nice.

i got one from ebay nismo posted up its 3000CFM so its a healthy fan. and dont tell me about fans cutting you. lol. i fly R/C airplanes and this was an electric one but tehy rotate at HIGH speeds so it cut through my pointer finger straight through the top through the nail till it hit my bone. lol. i never knew fingers bled so much till then. and then i was once again surprised at how much fingers bleed when i cut straight across my pointer finger again with some alumminum shrapnel from a hole saw. i thought it was PVC so i pulled on a little shrapnel piece stiching out like it was a hook, cut right through me like butter. lol. i dont know, if im going to just use a switch, this is a fairly thick positive wire. and the fan kicks on at 180 degrees. sound about right to everyone? i thought that was a little hot.

"...till i spank a honda or two..."? what? if you can't walk over honda's then you have more to worry about then an electric fan. anyways, just about any single fan with at least 2000 cfm will work. look at ebay

got to NAPA, get a bag of "transmission cooler mounts"
then when it comes time to wire it up, use a relay and just put it on a switch or have it on key forward..

Only use the zip ties if you're running a conventional brass radiator. I just installed my electric fan and aluminum radiator, and the aluminum fins are much softer than brass. Zip tie mounting would definitely cause damage.

It's an IS300 if it has the "Supra" 2jz motor... 3.0 liter = IS300 just like 280zx = 2.8 liter.
