automatic driveshaft

i was wondering if i need to get a another driveshaft if i put in a 5 speed trans? Or do the splines match up?

The splines are the same. not sure about length though (I think it's the same)

The only 5-speed that has different splines is a non-Nissan transmission. The Borg Warner T5 found in the 1982-83 280zx turbo w/5-speed. Besides that, they should all be the same.

The early 240z (70-71) have a shorter drive shaft.What year car are you talking about, also are you going from a auto or 4 speed trans.
