Has anyone "rebuilt" the driveshaft? I can get the bearing and, I think u-joints. The I think part relates to the U-jpoint listing which states "for steel drivshaft s only". Whats the scoop here?

Does the TT have alum D/S and the NA steel?

 

Most just order the 1-piece aluminum driveshaft from powertrainindustries.com Its $18x.xx and is much lighter, cheaper, more reliable than the OEM.

You can replace the u-joint, but usually the center-bearing goes bad along with these which can't be replaced.
