78 280Z Shutting down

Im posting this in 2 different spots cause im unsure where it should be. but i have 78 280z 2+2 i got from a good friend that no longer has time to work on it and his wife made him get rid of it. i was told it starts fine and all, but once its running it heats up and shuts down. i dunno if it overheats and shutsdown or if it happens when it gets warm, either way i need some help, and wanna know if this is an easy fix or not and what the problem might be thanks

Kinda hard to fix a problem, when we don't really know what the real problem is. It could be a lot of different things.

Start with checking spark & fuel pressure when the problem happens.

It could be as simple as a clogged fuel filter (2) or a bad fuel pump. There is an additional injector on the intake manifold (cold start valve) that turns on when it is cold and off when it is warmed up. It may be enough fuel but it turns off when warm so there isn't enough fuel pressure to keep it running. Time for you to download the Z bible (fsm)

That is true. I've seen a Z run only on the cold start valve. You go to give it gas and just falls on it's face. This one had other issues so it never shut off, but the main injectors were not firing.
