turbo or bigger carbs

turbo or bigger carbs

which would be better putting in my car a turbo or bigger carbs?

turbos do not play nice with carbs, so unless you want to go to fuel injection, i would take turbo out of the equation.

Turbo all the way. You can buy (depending on location) a 280zx turbo parts car for less than a set of tripple weber carbs. To make full use of those carbs you'll need a lot more work done to the head and exhaust. (and in the end, a stock turbo L28 running stock boost will still be as fast or faster)

blaaaaaaaaaaa dont do the whole bastering a turbo project....you will get another snw z. go ahead and do megasquirt and sds. it will make your life so much easier. might be scared in the start but once u understand it and what it does its piece of cake. but its up to you.

didnt we already go over this? AND MY Z RUNS FINE, its teh stupid attempt at the N42 thats got me down now, and i had to re-tap my head cause i woulda kept blowing exhaust gaskets. bastardizing. pff...


also we discussed in your other thread and came to the conclusion you need to do alot of studying before you turbo anything.

re-tap your head? why where u blowing your head gasket so much? where u properly tq down your head....did u check to see if needed to be shaved? we pick on you snw b/c its just easy and convenient.

i only blew one gasket but it was within only a few hundred miles. and it was because i had a broken and frozen bolt in the head, the one ALLL the way on the end so it left one exhaust port really unsupported. and it wouldnt come out, proke drill bits in it, broke and extractor in it, helicoils are crap so i just re-tapped it a slightly larger size.

That's the reason why I re-did my exhaust/intake gasket was to fix that broken stud.
