1.5 liters, if memory serves, but that was for my 4 speed. Check haynes/fsm for information on a 5 speed. Or, do it the cheat way and fill up until fluid starts seeping from the fill plug. Fill plug is at the max level for the fluid.

procedure's simple. Jack up car (or drive it up on 4 ramps, it should be leveled). crawl under car, unscrew square nut on the side of the transmission, that's the filler plug. place pan under drain plug on the transmission, get a 1/2" socket wrench, unscrew, drain fluid completely, replace drain plug. Get 75w90 gear oil or castrol hypoid gear oil (80w90 works well too) and a pump for 3 bucks. start pumping. plug filler plug. drive.

total cost should be under 15 bucks

I beleive most manufactures recommend a manual transmission fluid change about every 50K miles. Also, a pump is essential!
