BLEH internal gate FTL! external with atmospheric dump pwns yo! and my Z buying is on hold right now. any more of those 100 dollar t3/t4's chilling around? haha

So for reasons that make no sense my car is still not running...


I have gone through every sensor and every wire in the engine wiring harness, and they are good. The car will only start after 10 minutes of cranking, and then will only idle. You can open the throttle and it dies. Idles great. Just will not dump add fuel enough to rev...

AFM, CHTS, CAS all good...

I have narrowed it down to the computer. Thanks to bills, it will be another month before I have the money for megasquirt. But, I am not going to waste the money on another ECM unless I know it works and it's cheap.

strange stuff.... if it were the ECU i wouldnt think it would even start. spark and fuel all there? you know like pop off the wires try to look for spark then pop off the injctor plugs stick an LED into them and see if they flicker when you crank? also theres a little light on the ECU that lighting up?

It will idle, and that is all. OHM'ed the entire harness. Harness is great.
Every sensor checks out. It will send enough pulse to idle. I have great spark. Injectors are all good.
It rules out every possibility to the ECM. I don't understand what could have gone wrong with the ECM while installing the new turbo. It makes no sense to me. Everything logical would say that it was something change while the intake and exhaust were off the last time. That is the time it started to fail running correctly.
No matter what sensors are unplugged while running, it will not change the idle. I can unplug everything except for the spark and fuel, and it will idle. I can move the AFM with my fingers with no change except for when I choke the actual air getting into the engine. I even tried changing to another known good unit. No improvement.

It's a cooked goose from what I can tell. Time to skip the hassle and go Megasquirt. I am just broke, and it will take some time. I am looking at having to wait about a month before my car might be running again.
Unless I find a cheap '81 turbo ECM.

I have no idea what I could have done to cause this issue to start with. That is what is driving me mad. I have even called Python injection where the ECM was rebuilt and talked to them. I am supposed to be getting a schematic of the ECM so I can check it out. But, I will believe it when it comes. Guy I talked to sounded like a spaz.


I really miss my car.

I am driving a 1992 Honda Accord that was a freebie. The car has been in two rear ending accidents. No exhaust. It's loud, ugly, and slow.. And a Honda... Man I miss the Z. =(

In the pursuit of building another Turbo S30 for a friend, I was allowed to use another ECM...
Real shock, my car is a beast, and runs great.
He has troubles keeping up in his SRT8. haha
6.1 liters of hemi what?

But, the ECM is going into his car, and probably with my wire harness now that I will be going Mega Squirt.

Turns out there is too much resistance in the CAS circuit, which cause the short in the first place on the wafer in the ECM. Because of the crappy signal, my advance, and timing was sketchy as hell.


Here is some bonus. All taken with my crappy phone, sorry for the quality. My better pictures and vids are on the camera, and more dificult to load without personal internet.
