260zt build thread.

Well, since I decided to keep my car, there will be some work going on. This thread is to deal with that and keep you updated. First things first, I will be stripping her down, all the way to the body. Bare metal. Fixing a few things adding a roll cage, updating the wiring, and all that good stuff. Now, the work I can handle but theres some things I will need for the build. Such as a fuel management and ignition management system. I am thinking z31 ecu swap. Maybe mega squirt, so if anyone has these to donate, or sell cheap let me know. I will be looking at getting around 450-500hp out this build. So, I think I will need sponsors. If anyone is interested in donating parts and stuff as a sponsor let me know.

The fun starts Thursday. I will keep you updated.

Ok starting to get parts together for this, which head should I use? I am looking at a high boost, so I want a head that will help with this. lower compression some. Should I stick with the p90 turbo head or what?

P90 head will be fine for the hp you're going for. Just have it ported and flow tested. Get rid of the stock intake manifold as well, as it's also a restriction with those tiny runners. As for a turbo, I'm guessing something at least as big as a GT35R would be needed to get over the 400 mark. A 2mm headgasket will lower your compression to ~7.1 or 7.2 I believe. I can't remember the number exactly, but a couple guys on HBZ did it. The pistons will probably be the limiting factor at those hp levels so tune carefully to avoid the dreaded ping!

I was thinking the gt35r as well, and I wanna try to talk hoov outa one of his diesel cranks so I can make a 3.1 stroker to work off of. Having custom made intake and exhaust manifolds. Joys of being a welder/fabricator.

dont go stroker not worth it trust us trust us trust us, just save teh money and put it more into the other aspects of a turbo build. also a GT35R is a big turbo for numbers only as big as 400 bhp. im sure a 30R would be sufficient or a rather large t3/t4 hybrid.
