Hi folks, I was just given a 77 280 and it's been sitting for a couple years at least. I don't know any history on the car other than what I see under the hood etc. I have it running, but there is a bad miss and it won't idle unless I have the TPS set way over to the WOT side of the adjustment. I drained the fuel tank and replaced with fresh gas and filters, removed and cleaned the inline filter at the pump, attempted to clean the injector connectors using some electrical spray cleaner. The tune up parts look to be recent prior to the car sitting and in better than average condition. I'm wondering if this might be an injector problem? Sorry for the long post. Have you checked the timing? Have you pulled the spark plugs to check the tips?

 

Check the boot from the afm to the tb for leaks. Pull your plug wires one at a time to see whick cyclinder is missing. Welcome to Zdriver!
