more horsepower for my stroker please

hey, i have a 78 280z with a couple month old engine. Its bored out to 3.1L, new cam, pistons, crank, head,.....all new. I recently took it out to the track and was expecting much more then what i got. Im a little straped for cash now so i was wondering what people think i should add for the most horsepower. Ive heard many things such as rising rate fule pressure regulater, electric water pump(which would only add a few) and ovcourse NOS, but i rather not mess with that so any suggestions would be great.

if you did that build right...go get some megasquirt and TUNE IT....ppl dont think about tunes but y dump thousands in and not spend another couple hundred on a tune so it doesnt blow....if you did it right and put some money into it you should be around 250+ rwhp and around 300+ at the crank and thats plenty in that car....till u go turbo=the right way

I agree, but I do give him credit though. Because yes I do want to turbo my '82 280zx. But I still would like to have a n/a that is stroked. (Just not sure if it will be my '81 or '82 slicktop) Because I would have the best of both. To each his own though. Good luck with your stroker Z. And I am sure you will figure out. And get what you think, will work best for what you want.

What is it that you were expecting? Have you dyno'd the car to get your current hp rating?

I heard that going to 3.1 doesn't do that much more. You have only increased the displacement by 10%. So bigger on everything else too. It's still breathing in and out of the same holes. Megasquirtnspark!

likesaid....standalone system....and a tune + HEADWORK.....cam,angle job, valves, springs, all the rest of the stuff otherwise like he said all youve done is bore.....and maybe mill the head while youre at it if you didnt stroke it you should have upped the comp ratio with a higher set of pistons...did you do that or not?

nitrous is crap. i wouldnt, thats a muscle car thing or a turbo car thing when trying to defeat turbo lag. u could always cheap out and go carb setup on the stroker. or ITB's

16.7?!?!?! buwahaha! that is absolutley terrible. i think it could do better stock! thats definatly the price you pay for using stock EFI for a 2.8 low compression motor on a high compression 3.1 liter motor thats for sure. part of that is using the stock injectors im sure.

What is your hp goal? What is your price range? How did you get this far into your stroker motor w/o considering fuel injection upgrades????!?!?!
