240z heart transplant 260zx

Hello everyone, I am new here, so i figure it would be more proper to post on technical related.
I have a 240z (carb) shell and a 280zx (fuel injec) doner. I wanted to transfer the 280 motor to the 240z, so would i need to transfer all the wiring harness(rear, dash, front, engine) also along with fuel line, fuel tank. Would there be any issue i need to know in the future?
thanks, will post up pics soon.

Welcome to ZDriver!

A lot of people swap in the 280ZXT L28ET engine into the S30 (240Z-280Z) chassis. The non-turbo L28E can also be done, but for no gain (the 240Z's L24 was rated at 150hp, the 280ZX L28E was rated at ~135-145hp depending on year).

All L-Series engines are swappable. You'll just need to wire up the EFI harness (ecu computer harness), install an FI fuel pump, and most likely install new fuel lines.

Thank you nismopick.
I have a whole 79 280zx non turbo.
Would it be necessary to swap the fuel tank and harness over as well?

The ZX fuel tank wouldn't fit without a lot of modifications. While the drivetrain elements are shared between the S30 and S130, that's about it.

I have no knowledge of z, but just getting new to these toys. So my best chance is to leave everything on the 240 z, and just transfer the 280 motor over with the engine harness, and run an external fuel pump.

The reason why I'm doing this is because my 240z stock motor is dead.
