front control arm bushing

front control arm bushing

I bought the new urethane bushing kit and CANNOT get the old bushing out, MUCH LESS get the new in for the front control arm. Help!!!

ditto the advice in Nismo's link. If you have a decent shop close by, they can press them out for you quickly and inexpensively, and save you a lot of trouble. Just make sure it's a good shop. I had one place that didn't know what they were doing and ruined a control arm for me. DIY, the torch to burn out the rubber, followed by carefully cutting out the outer sleeve, is the way to go. It's also really good practice for when you do the four spindle pin bushings the same way on the rear.

use a hack saw to cut out the metal ring, just be careful to not go too far, cut some and then use a punch to fold the sleeve to get it out.
