Paint time!!!!

well its finally painting season, i say that because the air this cold it doesnt get saturated, a dry air, and alot of pollution and dust is gone. also being my garage is heated it creates the perfect conditions for painting. now then, i am going to paint both my S30's the same color at the same time to save on $$$ so i need to make sure im making the right choice. as of right now, im pretty set on black. but im open to any of shoots of black or any color in general. doesnt have to be a Z color either. i just want idears. let me know asap cause im going to get the paint in a day or two. so let the voting begin!!!!

Actually.... painting temp should be in the 60-80F range. Last I heard, IL is having ice storms...

black is nice for a while, but it starts to show swirls like a bitch if you are not super careful. I was going to paint my 260z that r34 blue color, I dont know the code for it though, i think they use it on 350z's too. Thats my favorite color. Here is kats s30 with a similar color. thats a real 432 by the way #88

last i hear MY GARAGE IS HEATED. and im pretty positive i said that already.... sooooo back at you HA lol

also, i like that blue, but i forgot to remind every one, the 280z has a butterscotch interior. soo its gotta be a color that wont clash with a butterscotch or a black interior. lol.

I think the silver color of teh 432 in the link above would look good with butter interior.

A dark green would look good with the butterscotch.

dude, only change the colour of a car if you plan on repainting the ENTIRE car, that and trying to paint a car black is a major PITA.

i agree ^^^^ but this car has already been painted a non original color, and primered. so now point there. and teh blue car, well, like i said, i want to save on bulk, plus the engine compart is already black on it anyways. also i repainted my interior black on the 260 when i went rust runting and had the entire interior removed, only the hatch is still blue on the floor. so as long as i do the jams, then it will be fine. trust me im NEVER one for changing colors, but under circumstances, im going to. what kinda green did you have in mind? ive never been a big fan of green, but im interested at the same time. i want a catchy clean yet original looking color. so liek a black pearl i thought would be nice. i considered white, but ive never been one for white cars. thought maybe a black with a metal flake, but then comes the choice of what color flake.... etc... either way, im thing more along the lines of darker colors for the most part.

Forest green, a Ford color. Black metal flake will look like a dusty black. The darker the color the more important it is to have straight panels or it will look like the sea. Since you are stuck with the butterscotch a red might look okay too. The wrong combo will make the whole car look like shinning fecal matter.

I usually try and avoid black because like everyone uses it and also doesn't black show like all the little imperfections in the body more?

I think I'm starting to like the idea of using a Satin black on a car, instead of going for a high gloss. Satin wouldn't show polishing swirls as bad as gloss does. I also love the look of the black cherry or burgundy pearl over gloss black.
