how much should i be looking to spend on a good paint job. theres a few small rust spots too. i want my z to look new. pearl white.

 

On my 93' vert I have around $4500 in the P&B, had one small dent is all, but we had to totaly strip the car all around. Doors trunk hood everything came off and was redone. Including re-blacking all the plastic and rubber parts. That's pretty steep but I was a real Bitch about how each part looked. Still may end up replacing the grill pieces at the bottom of the windshield, one has a bad spot in it that didn't come out perfect. The local dealer shop forman said they had ordered the same pieces for some guy and he didn't ever pick them up, they threw them away. Told him if anything else like that comes up to CALL me.

 

i think the average price is 2000-2500
i got quoted around 2200 at a local body shop last year
im thinking about tackling the job myself with the help of a mentor.
i have to do a senior project this year, and the guy at the body shop said that the price could get cut in half or more if i did everything myself up to the painting process. i dont know if you would want to do this but it would save a bundle and it shouldnt take you too long to strip the paint
