Yes as it states.... I have been thinking recently. And I really want an older Z. Basically the best of both worlds. I figure after I get a job after the first of the year. And have some money left from my payout check. I am going to be in the market for an older S30. I think it will be something different to work on. And be a new challenge for me.

Also of course.... I want a 2 seater, with a manual transmission. And it doesn't necessarily have to run. But if it does then cool. I want something that is restorable. Within a good price range. Basically less than $1500 or so. And I am not looking for a pristene one. I know of a few in this state. I have already started looking on the different websites.

This does not mean the love of the 280zx is less than before. I still love my Z's, like always. I just want an older one to tinker with. No harm in that right? Anyway this thread is started, to show you all. What I am looking for. Feel free to comment. Or if any of you have any S30's for sale. And thanks

Just keep looking. I found my 240Z for $500... drove by it one day, asked the guy if he would sell it. He said yeah for $3000. I stopped by again a year later & he was very glad to sell it for $500.

Keep a lookout when you're driving & keep checking craigslist / your local classifieds.

Thanks for the feedback guys. And keep it coming. Anyway there is quite a few Z's around here. Within the price range I mentioned. As tempting as it is to go grab one. I have to hold back, until I can get another job. I can get a '72 240z for $900. The bummer is.... It's an automatic, but I am sure I could convert it to manual. There are also 280z's for $1000 and less. So I am sure there will be a decent Z. When I am in the market for one. I am so exited to start a different kind of project. I know I have too much on my plate. But I can't wait too much longer. So that is what I have decided. All aside keep the posts coming.

I have a 77 280z 2+2 with manual trans. The motor turns over good with good compression but the fuel pump doesnt work. I also have a good l28 engine and auto trans from another 77 that was running when I pulled it to start my v8 swap. $750 gets it all.

Sounds great man, except for one thing. I do not want a 2 + 2, I forgot to mention that. But I do appreciate the offer though bro'. I just never much cared for 4 seater Z's. I love my 2 seaters. But that is a good price, for all you have to offer. Good luck with that.

Dude, finish one of your other projects first. Seriously. You don't want to get into a situation where you have a bunch of half finished projects. It's really depressing... Seriously... I have 6 Z cars right now and none of them move under their own power... I haven't driven my own Z car since January... OF LAST YEAR!! And I keep finding more **** I want to buy on CL... I'm actually going to look at another one today... GRRRRRrrrrr...

Yeah I hear you man. I just want a little break from a 280zx. And to work on a first generation Z. It would be different and fresh. Oh and 3 of my 5 cars, move under their own power. And why can't I be like you, and have a bunch of unfinished projects. lol j/p

Thanks for the offer. But I can't buy another car right now. I am more worried about trying to straighten my life out. And get another job. If it is still around, and I am looking. And I am more stable. I will let you know. But if you like post some pics of it on here. I still wouldn't mind seeing it. And thanks once again.

I just bought a '70 and a '71 as a pair for $750 (cdn) (today.. just now!!)
Both run.. both have papers, one is drive-able (the '71)
so,. good deals do come along
All in all, I'm very happy with my purchase so far.. ugly yes,.. but complete and driving early gen Z's arent "that" easy to fall over everyday.

I know of 3 more, all for less than a G note.. all need work of course. But,.. If I looked at 'em and kept the contact.. the car is repairable.

Good Luck on yer search
