Alot of newer porsches have that speed controlled rear wing. Theirs just looks alot nicer

It is a speed activated wing. It has another sensor and works as an air-brake when you apply the brakes. In addition, he has a manual over ride to filp other drivers off any time he wants.

how much does that actually help to slow it down?

 

He says that he can't tell an improvement in high speed stability with the wing up at speed, but the air brake really does make a noticable difference.

**He has only tested up to 120, so I wouldn't expect the wing to be a big factor. These 914's don't really get loose in the back until 140. (ask me how I know)
