I am so sick of it ...........IT would be my magical problem of her not starting it is pissing me off really bad .... i dont know what to say i have try everything it doesnt do this all the time just after shes warm like if i run to the store and turn her off she wont start for sometime its got to be in the fuel system ether ragulator or bad injector my psi gauge reads that i have fuel up there it just seems like i have to much and NOT eff air IN it, to fire her. i went to the store to grab up milk and golden grams this moring she started fine, ran her down there let she warm DIDNT rod her turned her off went in and got my stuff and when i came out she was such a bitch to start ...as i messed with her i pulled the vac line that gos'e to the fuel ragulator and i thought if she ant got air i will blow some in the intake though that vac line SO i did .... when and tryed to start her after that she fired over in three trys of the key.... to much fuel not eff air {i am going to try this again next time it does this just to be sure that its the fix}......... i think i need a new fuel ragulator................ new injectors and clips are on the way...........does anyone know of a good after maket fuel rail and regulator comb.......it dont have to be to flashy just needs to get the job done

I think only 82-83 had this, but the same thing happened to me right when the water temp guage hit the F if I shut her down it would be hard to start, then eventually it got to the point where it would shut off completly until it cooloed down.. The prob was the stator and rotor in the dizzy, there was too big of a gap and when the water got hot and passed by the dizzy it did something {thinking expanded the gap more due to heat} and the car would shut down.

p.s updated gallery new turbo picsw Garett GT40

HOW hot does it run? Just above the F but still right by it, or 3/4 the way up the temp gauge?

Replace the distributor with a used one in good shape!

Mine runs a 1/4 inch to the left of the F 145 degree thermo and the JTR aluminum radiator only 300.00 shipped and it is a direct bolt in.. P.S. I live in AZ and it is already 90-95 here. Even in traffic stop and go it never goes past the F Oh to fix my prob, I had to buy a new Dizzy.

Had that problem too. I grabbed a bunch of stator and rotors from a pic-a-part and tried different combos until I found one that would measure out to the right gap. Worked like a charm.

Well lets see, My car would heat up to the F and stop but try this have her run on idle till she gets hot, see if the car starts trying to stay alive. Like does the rev meter go up and down or does it simply turn off. See mine would rev up and down and if i gave it gas it would die but if i let off the gas it would still try to stay alive. So replaced the pressure regulator and that fixed the problem. Also replaced the fuel pump but that didnt solve my problem but it was faulty thou.
