My 300 is getting a gas smell
I have a smell of gas very potent and i cant figure out what to do or were it is ... and i have never replaced the fuel injectors or anything invloving fuel in my car and it has 141thousand miles on it . What can i do ? Should i upgrade to bigger injectors or what . I am in the process of building my car to have alot of power so i dont want to spend alot of money but i want more power than what i have even though i have alot. Already, thanx
You have a fuel leak. Remove the cover on your plenum and follow the fuel lines down to the fuel rail and around it. Try tightening all of the hose clamps along the fuel line. That's likely where your problem is. You shouldn't drive the car until you find the leak and fix it.
Thanx but i need some more help like where ......... most of the leaks people have had ......like where they were at and .........one more how much do you think it will cost to get it fixed if i do it all myself b\c i do all of the work to my car myself. thanx guys

Mine was near the throttle linkage, where a hose connects the two fuel rails. One of my clamps was loose. You can even just turn the key till your dash lights come on and that will start the fuel pump and pressurize everything. There are writeups on many of the Z sites, should be some here, or try twinturbo.net or 300zxclub.com I think TT.net has a sticky that says, tis the season for fuel leaks that you can click on.

thats why! follow all the lines liek they said and replace the immeaditly, if its not any of the lines, check the regulator, also check the dampner when these go bad its common that gas gets sucked from them into the plenum, also possibly check your vacumn lines from the fuel pressure regulator
