Debating on Selling my Z
Yeah, unfortunately I might have to sell my Z.
Its my 78 280Z Black Pearl that I;ve been building on for the last year or so to put a Titan V8 in. I ended up giving up on that path and started to just rebuild the L28 but with a P90 head I have.
Long story short, its in a million pieces all over my garage in boxes, and I'll just sell everything I have thats Z related, including the 300ZXTT stuff I have for $2000 OBO.
The body has minor rust (for an old Z) and is just a rolling body atm.

Bummer Blue
Sorry to hear that, I know you were really excited to get her and discover she was a bit rare. My only advise would be try and keep her, or if you can manage it, get her drivable, will sell much easier, and then maybe Ill drive over from Boise and buy her, I still need a good s130 project.

Yeah, I really don't want to either. I'll probably starting putting it back together then change my mind

Agree with PredZ. You will lose $ if it isn't running - or almost running. 'Rolling' isn't much to sell, even with all the parts. Think about putting just enough time and labor in to get it either running or close. Makes a big $ diff.
Lotsa guys looking for '78s now - and other Zs from the 70s - they are like collectibles - but you should give them something to work with. It's a lot easier to mod a car that's running than to take a car from pieces to running (whew) - and then mod it. Everyone wants to mod a 70s Z that's running... Sounds to me like a good project.

I tried to sell a non-running Z a couple years ago. Didn't get anywhere near what it was worth.

Sounds like I may as well not bother. Its not that I want to get rid of it in any way, but circumstances are prying my arm. Maybe I'll see about putting it in storage till the HOA calms down!

Since it will need to be towed / flatbedded, I'd post on the local FB Z groups:

Hahaha
I knew you couldn't do it... but just remember, we have your back, if you ever need to sell her, we will find a good home... but I am hoping that does not happen. Once you have a car called Black Pearl, how can you go back? Sometimes you go through low points and not much gets done, but then you spend an afternoon working on her and next thing you know, almost like sex, it's all you think about ! At least that's how my mood swings tend to go.

lol True enough! Now I've gotten back into tinkering on it in my spare time! I ended up ditching the V8 idea and I'm just going with a nicely modded L28 (wish I had a turbo engine tho!) But it will be nice enough for what I want lol
