i've got an 01 stratus ES, the one with the 2.7L V6. i see alot of hate for the 2.7L but to me it seems like a voistrous bunch of isolated incidents. any way.

summers comming up and i have a coolant leak and an oil leak and i was wondering if there were any common problems with the 2.7's about oil or coolant leaks any one knew about.

all the complaints online are to do with sludge and engines blowing. no sludge no blowing engines, on mine,. just leaks a bit.
cant complain for $500 but i would like to be ale to drive it because its either drive the Z which is a nice car and all but no cargo. or my wifes car which is an 01 sentra, cramped with probably too much cargo (leg room designers, ****!)

 

My wife's '97 Stratus leaks oil and coolant also. It also puts out smoke with a weird odor. I am thinking it is burning oil also. It has a 2.5L V6. The big problem with the 6's in these cars. Is that they are Mitsubishi, which are a huge headache. Hers is also the ES model, with all the bells and whistles. All I can say is do some more research, and get yourself a manual, and read it. These cars are a nightmare. lol Good luck.
