Seems over priced?

My friend had her 02 sensor replaced on her 02 civic, it cost $425 plus $150 labor fees, that seems steep to me or am i just thinking wrong?

Need more info...

What engine / version Civic? Were both sensors replaced?

I just browsed on the web & there are some cheapo ones & some expensive ones... From this site ( http://www.oxygensensorwholesale.com..._civic_si.html ) it looks like they'd be $370 for both.

Sounds like dealer prices. Also sounds like wideband pricing too, which would explain why so expensive for the sensors.

Agreed, must be dealer pricing on those parts, because Napa lists them (02 Civic LX) for 40 to 75 apiece (for the sensors). http://www.napaautoparts.com/masterp...=15&SubCatId=3
Unless there were a lot of other things they did at the same time?
The labor doesn't seem too far out of line. Depending on your local going shop rates, that's probably some where around 2 ($75 / hour) or 3 ($50 / hour) hours of labor.
That's just a back-of-the-envelope calculation, though.
