Went to Qualcomm Street Legals

I went to the street legal 1/8 mile racing at Qualcomm stadium (in San Diego btw, in case you were wondering) last Friday with my bro. There was a good mix of cars in attendance, everything from your typical Civic all the way up to a Viper, Pantera and MKIV Supra. I didn't see too many Z's there though, only 2 350Z's and one n/a Z32, no other 280zx's . I did a total of 7 passes that night, averaging 9.45-9.5 at 77-79mph. My best time was a 9.397 @ 77.5mph. My closest races were against an SRT-4 and a GS-R Integra. I beat the SRT by .019 of a second and the GS-R by .048. All in all I had fun that night. My bro's Scion tC ran a best of 10.2, a little bit off his best mark of 10 flat. We're planning to go again once my other bro's Spec V gets fixed. Probably in mid December. Maybe some more Z's will show haha.

we (SDZ32) go every now and then. I haven't taken the new Z yet, but the best I pulled with my old TT was an 8.0. Charles is wild to watch as he usually is in the low 7's. The NA Z32 you saw was white and a little beat up? I see that one alot. Funny story with that Pantera if it's the same one. Charles kept beating him, and the pantera owner couldn't believe it and kept wanting rematches. It was really funny.

i'm thinking to myself....Qualcomm stadium = San Diego Chargers! How in the world did they have drag racing in there when they play football on the following sunday!?! I actually had to go to nfl.com and look up the fact that last week the Chargers had a bye week lol. Woot Go Bears!!

That's cool that you have a local spot to do that. How about some pics/vids next time?

Dude, You're too funny!
They don't race INSIDE the stadium. They do it in the GIANT PARKING LOT OUTSIDE

Yea, it's a good time to go and pit crew and watch as well. We should get a day set up that we'll call meet up and go. It'd be good times.

Dang Emo, 8 flat is pretty fast, the average of the cars last Friday was in the mid to high 9's. I didn't see too many cars crack past the 8 barrier and into the 7's except for a few of the higher end cars like the Vettes and old school muscle cars. There was a guy with a 500+ Supra that was trapping 95mph but only running mid 8's due to wheelspin. Fastest I saw was a 6.4 from a Z06, and the slowest was a stock EF Civic with an 11.3.

Traction was hard to find that night. The track officials put down way too much water in the box and the fwd cars would take that water up to the line with them with their rear tires. Anyways, if anyone does decide to go, I'll probably head there again for the Dec. 9th event. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to race or watch just yet, but I'm down to meet up and talk.

Oh yeah, the n/a zx that showed up was white, and I'm guessing close to stock. He had some Flowmaster mufflers gauging from the sound of the exhaust. (his exhaust tips were small and yet his car was louder than mine) I don't know what times he ran since he was always a few cars back from me in pit row.
