does the policy state where the funds must come from when using them to purchase an item for yourself?? what if your dad gave you cash so you could buy the ink for yourself. i do not see a difference there. if your dad were to testify that he allowed you to use his funds to make a purchase for yourself, best buy can suck it. i would like to see this policy, and whether it regards fund source or end user.

i know, but that is the same thing as his dad giving him cash. the purchase was still made for an eligable person. if the policy does not state where funds must come from, and only who the purchases can be made for, worst buy can suck it. and what are they doing letting you make a purchase with a card that isnt authorized for you anyways??? sounds like its THEIR problem, not yours.

Yeah, you really want to **** these guys, dispute the credit card charge. they failed to check ID... So, the sale was not valid under the terms and conditions. They have a choice, they can agree you did nothing wrong and "Suck it" like E said, or they get screwed on the improper use of a credit card...

I'm getting the feeling that there must be more to this story.

Rod.

You guys have the same exact thought process as I do. I agree, I'm the only one that is getting the product, and what does it matter if I were to be given cash. I'm going to call HR tomorrow and talk to someone about the issue.

Guess what guys and gals? I've got an interview today at 5 for Circuit City!!!!

One of the store managers is an ex-Geek Squad person himself, and I spoke to him on Wednesday to check in on my application. He called me today, and scheduled an interview. I had to go out and buy a new shirt, and now I'm just waiting until the interview. I hope I ace it!

By the way, I called HR on Tuesday, and they told me "tough ****", but with kinder words. The lady I spoke to was kind, but she said that since I bought the ink using my Dad's card, and I'm not on the card either physically or in the system, that I'm basically making him an eligible person, since it's his money buying the product. Oh well, I've got an interview today!!!

Well if thats the case you can get worst buy on improperly taking credit cards. Which in turn can be a crime. What if you had stolen the card, bought something with it and was never ID'd per store policy. They could be held as an accomplice to theft by default.

If you can get the exact reason they fired you in writing with the log of events you can sue them for wrongful termination.

Actually, some idiot consumers in the state of California came up with a law that was passed which made it so that retailers cannot ask for a person's ID when paying with credit. The consumers were complaining that by a retailer looking at their ID, that we are invading their privacy.

Dang That Does Suck Then... I Have No Room To Speak Though. Here In Nevada Its A Right To Work State. They Can Fire You For Picking Your Nose If They Wanted To. The Only Way You Can Sue Is If You Can Prove That It Was About Age, Sex, Religion, Ect...

Only way you can legaly ask for ID is if the card is not signed or instead of a signature it says "see id" or something of that nature. Technicaly you are sposed to compare the signature on the sale receipt with the card or something like that. Thing is nobody really knows that ****, let alone cares.

I asked about that, and she said that cash is one of those grey lines, where if they don't know, they don't care.

As for my interview, I think it went well. There's another guy applying for the same position, but I was told that I have more experience than him, so I should be a shoo-in (or is that shoe-in?). He said he'd give me a call in two to three days, and then I'll come in for a second interview. I've got my fingers crossed!!!

I had the final interview today, and I got the job! Circuit City seems like a better place to work, they seem more employee centric, and the GM is really big on training, unlike Best Buy. The best part is that I now make $1.30 more than I did in Geek Squad!
