Prices for Paramount's Great America?

I'm thinking that this year for my girlfriend's birthday that I will take her to Paramount's Great America for the weekend. I'm doing some research, and I've already found good rates for hotels, such as the Best Western for $51 a night, but I'm having trouble finding prices for the park itself. Does anyone have any ideas how much it costs to visit the park? We'd be going on April 14th and 15th, if that helps any. I have been told that Safeway and Blockbuster usually sells discount tickets for the park, and I have also heard that Great America has a 2 for 1 deal if you buy the tickets at the gate. Thanks for the help!

Looks like the park is closed until the season begins (whenever that is) and the prices for this year aren't posted yet.

I DID find some pretty good looking package deals w/ a hotel and a pair of passes, I don't know if it helps at all, but figured I'd post what I found:

(They are posted for the 05 season, but I'm sure they still offer the packages for around the same price, and they should have some idea when the park will be open again)

Thanks for the help RPS13, I didn't see that link when I first checked the Santa Clara site. That'll make it more affordable if I go through the hotel (working on a very tight budget here) and I read that if you go to one of the city buildings in Santa Clara, they sell discounted tickets (29.99 vs. 47.99), so I might see if I could get one of my friend's brothers who lives in Sunnyvale to purchase them for me, or just drive down their earlier.

yes, it's very similar. I believe it has a nickelodean theme to the park.

you giving me a history lesson on the theme park that i've lived near all my life? lol

The Six Flags Great America here has looney tunes and cartoon network areas for the kiddies. They just added a water park across the way from it this past summer.

not really. The Great America by him and The Great America by me are in different parts of the country and are owned by different corporations.
I was just unaware that the Great America nameplate had been used for multiple parks.

yeah, not to be offensive, but first read of what you said Riz sounded like you were pissy or something to that effect, but after reading it again, I totally understand where you're coming from. The Great America in Santa Clara, CA, also has a Cartoon Network and Looney Toons theme, from as far as I can remember (I haven't been there in a few years, more like 6 or so). It goes as far as Six Flags owning Marine World now, so you can go and watch dolphins and then go hurl on some coasters. Do you know by chance when the Six Flags near you (in Chicago, right?) merged with Great America? I know it had to be some time within the last decade, because my mother and stepfather and stepsiblings (I wasn't invited, my stepfather was a huge dick) went in '98, I believe, and it was still only Six Flags at the time. I'm not saying you're wrong, by any means (don't want to **** anyone off and have this turn into Zcar.com ) I just am curious when it happened.

Looks like in 1983 Marriot sold both parks.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_Fla...a#Marriott_Era

that page has a good history of the park.
I remember all those changes they made.
The Edge accident, The Demon accident (which still happens time to time), the immense 5hr wait lines for batman the ride, the new shows, everything, i remember it all lol. Good Find on that article, RPS13_GZ32.

I live right down the road from the park.
